National Financial Literacy Day 2026 Promotes Smart Money Habits

BDCB launched NFLD 2026 to strengthen financial knowledge, encourage responsible money habits and support stronger financial well-being across Brunei Darussalam.
Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) officially launched National Financial Literacy Day (NFLD) 2026, marking the beginning of a three-day programme dedicated to strengthening financial knowledge, encouraging responsible money habits and promoting stronger financial well-being.
The event was launched by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education and Chairperson of the National Financial Literacy Council, together with Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Rashidah binti Haji Sabtu, Managing Director of BDCB.
The programme highlighted the importance of translating access to financial services into sound financial decisions and responsible financial behaviours. Particular attention was given to digital financial literacy, following the National Financial Literacy Survey 2026 finding that Brunei Darussalam recorded a Digital Financial Literacy score of 43%.
The launch also featured a keynote address by Dr Joanne Yoong on applying behavioural insights to strengthen financial well-being and resilience. NFLD 2026 continued through a Financial Awareness Roadshow and Financial Talks, delivered with the support of government agencies, financial institutions and strategic partners.
